My Story
by Gina Sandora aka Allergeena.

My gluten free story started in 1999. I had been struggling with the constant pain of fibromyalgia for years. I tried everything natural to heal myself and eventually I resigned myself to take medication to dull the effects.

Then, I met a naturopathic doctor. She had many changes for me, a diet of elimination was part of the treatment and gluten was on top of the list of restrictions. It wasn't easy, but it was all worth it.... because four months later, I was practically skipping down the street.

I felt like a "new person", everything changed, the constant pain was gone, respiratory allergies ceased, my body weight changed for the better. I could exercise with less pain ......did I mention there was no daily pain :-) To this day I am 98% pain free and I will be forever grateful to my doctor Priscilla Skerry, ND

Baking:

I'm a third generation home style baker, born and raised in Maine. My mother and her mother baked bread for their families every week. We had home made bread every day !!! So you see, I had to learn how to bake gluten free. At first I gave up bread altogether. Then I started experimenting with different flours, my first success was my all-time favorite; Anadama Bread!

The Baking Business: Allergeena Gluten Free Baked Goods.

In the fall of 2009, I had been doing some part-time consulting with restaurant owners to help them develop their gluten free menus. The feedback I got from them was that they didn't care for the products that were available from their traditional food distributors. Then my husband recommended that I sell my bread to them,,,,And the rest is in the dough!

Bread is the staff of life and we love bread.
We think everyone should have a good bread day.
